Association

            The Association Partnership of the Northern Jura (PPJ) includes 9 communes of the north-east part of the Silesian Province: Janów, Koziegłowy, Lelów, Mstów, Niegowa, Olsztyn, Poraj, Przyrów, Żarki. The area of the Association occupies 985 km² and live here nearly 72 thousand inhabitants. The most characteristic feature of the area is the Jura Krakowsko - Częstochowska with her tourist attractions and a large number of precious and protected natural objects. Because of unique natural values of the Northern Jura it is planned creating the “Jurassic National Park” on this area. In September 2004 affiliated communities decided to begin cooperation as part of the program Leader, inviting to the participation in the project entrepreneurs, social organizations and local leaders. In September 9th 2004 the project was folded to FAPA. A signed agreement in August 4th 2005 was a result of the submitted project for the realization of the first scheme. In frames of the first scheme the Local Action Group in the form of the association was formed, personnel was trained and strategy for area was created. All taken action enabled to get funds for the realization of 21 projects as part of the second scheme. An effect of implementing planned projects was:

- professional preparing of three studies (studies contained examinations and diagnoses regarding to business support, the development of tourism as well as the development of resources: natural, cultural and ethnographical).

- publication of thirteen diverse promotional publishing in total edition about 30 thousand copies

- refinancing of 27 outdoor events

- organization of 28 trainings, trips and workshops for about 1200 children and teenagers

- organization of sport activities in which took part 50 teams for 1200 children and teenagers

- organization a lots of trainings and courses for about 300 adults of residents

- promotion of the area in 3 large touristic fairs as well as across recording 6 television programmes about region of Partnership of Northern Jura

- enlargement of the effectiveness the PPJ and raising qualifications of coordinators in result of execution of 6 trainings as well as undertaking the co-operation with other local action groups

               In the whole second scheme 750 000,00 PLN were planned and 750 020,34 PLN were carried out. Accomplishment of the program Leader+ turned out to be the huge success of the association which became the well-known organization. The Partnership of Northern Jura became organization positively associated with actions for inhabitants. After finishing the second scheme the PPJ had planned continuing activity in frameworks of the program PROW for years 2007- 2013 (the fourth axis). Expecting for starting the new program, the association filed an application to Office of the Marshal’s Silesian Province, as part of the operational program the Human Capital. The application was entitled “The Patent for the future- the Local Centre of the Education”. In result, association received 50 000 PLN for the implementation of project, which was directed to senior pupils and to unemployed people. Simultaneously the PPJ created the Local Development Strategy as well as he prepared himself for the submission of an application as part of program PROW for years 2007 - 2013 (the fourth axis) in or-der to continue the program Leader. After the adaptation the association to requirements of new PROW competitive applications were prepared (as part of the fourth axis of the PROW). Competition applications obtained the acceptance of the Board of the Silesian Province on May 6th 2009.
          The PPJ in the previous period of programming accurately defined strategic and detailed objectives and successfully carried them out. In the new strategy the association decided to continue taken directions of action. 219 actions have been planned in order to achieve established purposes. Budget of this planned action has 10,54 million zlotys. All planned projects will influence directly and indirectly to all social groups, in particular on children, young people and entrepreneurs. The association wants, by efficient and competent carrying out the strategy, to become the important institution in the area. The association wants to co-decide with the local self-government on directions and methods of the development of the area of Northern Jura.
            Thanks to operations of the Partnership of the Northern Jura inhabitants can have the intense influence on their “small motherland” for the first time in history.
