Commune Mstów is situated to the north-east of Częstochowa and nowadays it is a part of Silesian Voivodeship, which is central and north part of Kraków-Częstochowa Jurassic Highland Chain. Characteristic landscape of the highland are Jurassic limestone rocks often shaped into various scenic columns, stacks and buttes. Commune Mstów, where many rock formations can be seen, is in 60% a part of Jurrasic Landscape Park.
Microclimate conditions in the area of Częstochowa are regarded as good and the region of Mstów presents very well in this issue. In the surrounding woods interesting forest phenomena occur, which are called broadleaved forest, with a significant habitat of large-leaved linden, which has north most habitat in the highland. Broadleaved forest is a multispecious deciduous forest which parts can be found on the uncovered and well illuminated hillsides in the neighborhood of beech forests. In order to protect steppe and rock flora groups two nature reserves were formed: "Murawa na górze Wał we Mstowie" and "Wąwóz małuski we Mstowie". Beautiful landscape valor is one of the chief assets of this area.
